International Overdose Awareness Day

Today, August 31, 2022 is International Overdose Awareness Day. The world’s annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.

The United States' Drug Overdose deaths are skyrocketing. Within only 1 year from October 2020 to October 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died of a drug overdose. More people in the U.S. died from overdose than from firearm homicides, melanoma, auto accidents or HIV-related causes. The alarming increase of illicit Fentanyl was the cause in most of those deaths.

It is "Time to Remember and Time to Act". Spread awareness on the dangers of drug abuse, talk to your children about "One pill can kill", and help, rather than criticize, those who are suffering from drug abuse.
